Hotel Caesar Augustus

The Welcome

You know you can’t go wrong staying at any hotel in the world run by the Relais & Chateaux group – and no, they haven’t paid me to say that. Whether it’s the property tucked in the mountains of Glion, Switzerland, or the sprawling resort ideal for a long weekend in Sri Lanka, each experience is unique and luxurious. I personally love this chain. So when social media darling and fashion designer Tamara Al Gabbani told me the Hotel Caesar Augustus in Capri, Italy is one of her fave spots in the world, I wasn’t surprised to see that it’s under the golden umbrella of the Relais & Chateaux group.

When people say a hotel has the ‘best sea view in the world’ and the ‘most beautiful rooms’, you tend to take it with a grain of salt, but these images certainly prove those phrases to be true.

Reception

Two hundred years ago, this hotel used to be a private home for artists and intellectuals. Today, it’s the only 5 star hotel in Capri.

Dramatically set high on a cliff overlooking beautiful expanses of sea, it’s easy to see why it’s popular with royalty and celebrities.

Tamara looks right at home in this architectural beauty!

Sweet Suite

With 6 exclusive suites and 49 rooms, the hotel manages to avoid that impersonal feel that comes with standard hotel rooms. The interior designers responsibly for that distinct ‘hotel’ feel skipped the Caesar Augustus Capri with happy results – the rooms here feel warm and airy, most come with terraces overlooking the azure sea, and the warm wooden touches throughout give it the feel of a home of a friend.

You can access the suites with a special code in the elevator, with doors opening to a light-filled room with a marble fireplace dating back to the 18th century.

There’s a gazebo on the terrace with tables, chairs and sun loungers – it’s ideal for having a group of people over for sundowners.

Fine Dining

One of the best things about a holiday to Italy is the food. The hotel’s main restaurant, La Terrazza di Lucullo, overlooks the sea and seems like an ideal spot to pop the question or celebrate a milestone anniversary. The food comes from the hotel’s organic garden, so the salads taste like magic. Top it off with local wine paired with your fresh catch of the day. And of course, always save room for decadent desserts!

Breakfast is also a lovely affair, with a mix of fresh fruit, pastries and omelettes.

Relax at the Spa

Now, why would you want to spend any time indoors when you have breathtaking views and delicious food at restaurants? Here’s a reason: the Turkish hammam is in a garden by the sea. Imagine getting a massage surrounded by lavender and rosemary bushes. Heaven.

Even a stroll through the gardens is a relaxing experience.

Overall, it’s clear to see why this is a favorite spot for Tamara Al Gabbani – it is a luxurious spot that is also laid back, warm, and truly a unique experience. I personally can’t wait to try it out for myself some day.

#WhatToPack

Breezy dresses and vibrant colours are a win at the Caesar Augustus Capri! Tamara’s style is, as always, effortlessly chic.

If you feel inspired by the Italian love for bold color, go for an outfit that plays with contrasting shades and playful patterns. Just don’t blame us from attracting attention away from the beautiful sea views…
