QT Gold Coast

Reviewed exclusively for Holidays in Heels by writer Claire Hastings in Australia!

The last time I and two of my friends went to Gold Coast, we decided to have some fun and create unforgettable memories! To all of you who are suckers for a cultural and artistic boost (just like I am), this is one of the best experiences you can treat yourself to. It’s a heavenly place if you wish to see what a real cultural melting pot looks like and if you want to enjoy art at its finest. Following, apart from all-things-art at this wonderful destination, there is a multitude of other, more dynamic things to do, too! That last time, we went for a surfing weekend, and it was absolutely amazing! We stayed at the lovely QT Gold Coast and were treated to such a wonderful time that I still feel like crying for not actually being there at this very moment (instead of writing about it).

The Welcome

For me personally, it’s very important to stay at a hotel that will sweep me off of my feet. It doesn’t have to look like a magical castle, per se, although I wouldn’t mind that option, either. When we arrived, our hotel managed to meet our expectations perfectly: it looked like a luxury complex right out of Hollywood.

As I was saying in the introductory paragraph… I wish I could live there!  It is on the vibrant beachside location and it is perfect for all the aesthetic addicts like me.

Sweet Suite

Picking a room isn’t as easy as it might sound. Sure, you can always waltz in, ask for a free room, and hope for the best. Not this time, though. We decided to ask for the best possible and to pamper ourselves; after all, it was a girl-weekend-out. We planned to have fun. There are a few simple rules you should follow if you want to score an affordable room, however, in this hotel, every room is a top-notch choice.

QT Gold Coast offers beautiful interiors and wonderful views. You can choose between an Ocean and Mountain River view.

Ocean view King suite comes with a King bed, a double sofa bed in the lounge room, an iPod dock, mini bar and designer furnishings.

Twin mountain river view room offers stunning hinterland views of the mountains or river, private balcony, workspace, flat screen HD TV, bespoke bathroom, deluxe amenities, iPod dock, mini bar and designer furnishings.

Food-tastic

After a long day of exploring and finding good places to shop (and of course learning how to surf with a dreamy instructor), a girl gets thirsty. Luckily, since our hotel has everything you could ever wish for, we could go down to the bar and grab a drink. The Stingray Lounge bar offer ranges from the simplest of drinks to the most complex cocktails to turn the night around, and they’re not even expensive (which is pretty great!).

We enjoyed eating at the wonderful Bazaar restaurant. Exactly what we needed that weekend! Don’t even get me started on the food and ambient as it was like out of a dream! The hotel also offers a great sushi restaurant.

#WhatToPack

Even if you’re going for a short getaway, it’s necessary to bring a few essentials with you. A few pairs of simple jeans, or even shorts is a must. Statement or plain white shirts should be your bag’s essentials as the nights are very warm and you want that tan to show, right? Don’t forget to pack a couple of party dresses since you should be planning a night out as well. Oh yeah, don’t forget nude sandals for the long walks on the beach! Ah, I can still feel the warm sand between my toes, seriously!
